PRACTICAL GUIDE

From plasterboard to paint: the sequence of work

Jointing, finishing putty, sanding, primer and paint — separate stages with different tasks.

The joint is the first detail

The fastening and edges of the boards are checked. Compatible joint filler and reinforcing tape are selected when required by the system. Uniflott, Fugenfüller Leicht and ready-made finishing mixes have different applications.

Define the finish you want

Levels Q1–Q4 describe different processing requirements. They are negotiated with regard to the final coating and lighting. The name of the putty itself does not guarantee the readiness of every surface.

When side or hidden lighting is envisaged, visible surfaces and details are discussed in advance. This helps to plan the required scope of putty.

Before painting

After drying, the necessary corrections, sanding and dusting are made. The primer is selected according to the base and the paint recommendation.

Machine and manual application are selected according to the room and the material. Both methods require preparation, protection of adjacent surfaces and inspection of the final finish.

The technical examples apply to specific products and conditions. During installation, the complete instructions and the specified system details take precedence.
